On June 7, McGuireWoods’ Veteran Lawyers Network, led by partner and VLN chair John Thompson, hosted a National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) webinar. Presented live in the firm’s D.C. office, the program was broadcast to other U.S. offices via videoconference. McGuireWoods lawyers learned about the types of pro bono legal services they can provide for veterans.
The NVLSP, a nonprofit organization, has worked since 1981 to ensure that the government delivers to the nation's 22 million veterans and active duty personnel the benefits to which they are entitled because of disabilities resulting from their military service. The organization serves as a resource on discharge upgrades, and provides informational and legal services to disabled U.S. veterans.
